Tweens are NOT scrumtrelescent.

This dialogue proves the fact that 13 year olds should not be able to be behind the steering wheel of a motor vehicle.

Setting: Windham Middle School parking lot, Anna in driver's seat of the car, dad shotgun, and I in the backseat, feeling sick.

Dad: Now as you go around this turn, you're going to ride the brake just a little bit.
::Anna continues to speed up::
Anna: I CAN'T SLOW DOWN! HOW YOU DO SLOW DOWN?!?!?

At this point in the ride, I feel the need to intervene.

Me: USE THE BRAKE.
::Anna puts in clutch::
Me: Sighs.
Dad: Ok, no that we're on a straightaway, accelerate.
Anna: WHAT?! How do I go faster????? This is so confusing!!

Again, I'm about to kindly point out the fact that only a dumbass doesn't know that the gas generally gives a car speed, when dad whacks me in the leg. He is very patient with her. I give him credit.
This occurred about three or four times over the course of 10 minutes.
Of course, Anna got mad at me later when I told her that she might want to wait a few years before getting behind the wheel again.
