I've been poking through my older files (which are pretty much all D&D related), and...man. I think I miss the old me. There's some really good stuff in there that never got updated, or was left behind for one reason or another and I forgot about. I created a slew of demihuman gods, for instance, and while I don't -need- (or want) that many any more, most of the names are really cool.
I'm not against 4e, but I don't think I'll ever seriously update my campaign to fit it. I've been tweaking rules around, and recently (in the past few weeks) taking a good, hard look at Swords & Wizardry as a platform to build off of. Swords & Wizardry is an OGL clone of the very first set of D&D rules, so it's pretty barebones, but certain aspects have been tweaked or updated ("ascending", aka d20-style, Armor Class is built in as an option to "old-school" descending AC, which I -always- thought was a pain in the ass.) I'm not wild about varying XP charts either, but I'll probably just tweak the classes so they "feel" the same, and give them all the same chart. Almost everything else is good; I'll just add more on the top.
