So...this is my second day here at Wes...it's been so hectic (as all orientations are).
First of all, this whole coed thing is really nice to get used to. The guys here, well just the transfers and freshmen I met, are soo nice. It's just kinda awkward. When I was moving in on what had to have been the most humid day of the year so I totally drenched in sweat (picture: beads rolling down forehead, wet spotted shirt, disheveled hair...) and I run into 3 cute guys of the 3rd floor, who decide they want to talk to me...and I'm thinking: omg, I'm not at wellesley, I can't run and hide in the dorm...because they live there!
My roommate came early for international student orientation, so I've gotten to know quite a few international students from Germany, France, and Ireland. Across the hall are a couple of 12 college exchange students from Mount Holyoke. They're super sweet and one of them had a car parked right outside ;-). Although, don't fear, they will never be as cool and amazing as you wellesley girls!
The orientation stuff really sucks, but I guess registration no matter how you do it totally sucks...I'm trying to get into all the classes that will probably be full...but at least there are other history classes I can take (ahem. wellesley. ahem.).
Btw...the dinner does have true MR. Pibb, Brittany (none of that extra stuff)...only the freshman dining hall is open and the food sucks and it's quite the schlep (sp?) to the freshmen dorm area. I can't wait till the upperclass come back and we can go on points so we can go to all the little dining halls and the store.
So anyway...first night at a coed school = PARTY! Oh yes...party at one of the upperclass houses a few blocks away (most of the upperclass here live in houses) with free beer (minus police and bracelets - YAY!). Then a I drove with a couple of the girls to this 24-hour diner nearby...
Also enjoying the no bells and no real res policy!
oh and before I forget! Thanks to Tara for baking me cookies for moving in and shit...kept my belly from growling and helped me make friends. yay!
love you and miss you all!!
here are some pics from my room...I'll try to post some of the campus later:
