Week 10

Mar 08, 2007 15:22

I sit here, on a rented laptop from the OC library inside of Battelle.  Part of me feels "really cool"-seeing as how I'm online, in an academic building.  I've never had a laptop, so this is actually a new/fun experience for me.
I checked OUT the laptop because I wanted to rip my music history listening quiz songs onto the laptop so that studying this evening would be easier.  HOWEVER, the laptop died whilst ripping the cd.  And now, i'm left 2 songs short of the Mozart opera I need to study this evening.
I hate week 10.  Really, I hate it.  Normally this week is "dead" week, as ONU describes it.  There is supposed to be minimal work, etc....except for that looking at my work that needs to be accomplished before the end of the week (tomorrow) and work before I leave for Chicago...I'm a little overwhelmed.  To the point where I"m getting near "panic state."
Week 10.
I need to
study for a listening quiz, get to the Cols Museum of Art, plan out a paper, accumulate materials for my Art Appreciation class for tomorrow.

This weekend- Friday night is the Wind Ensemble concert; Saturday will be going to Teays Valley- Matt's band is playing and Rocky's group is playing.  Matt's group plays at 11, I'll need to leave OC early...and Rocky doesn't play until late afternoon.  Sunday- I need to get fitted for a Bridesmaid dress and consider studying for the finals that are happening this next week.

Last night was one of those nights that I never thought would happen.  I thought that after I had lived independently, without roommates for a year, I would be very seclusive and not talk to my roommates as much as I have.  Last year taught me to figure things out on my own, and when things don't go as planned, to figure it out.

Well, Morgan's grandfather was rushed to the ER last night for heart complications.  Normally, she's pretty indepenedent and chooses not to share a WHOLE lot with the rest of us.  While I was pretty awake I realized that long run,, I was getting tired and needed to get to bed.  Morgan was pretty upset, and we all ended up piling into my bed-and watching Dawson's Creek.

If this was last year, I wouldve been in some sort of "hostess"mode, which is ridiculous, but its true.  But this year, I fell asleep with my roommates piled into my bed.   And it was just what Mo needed.  An unspoken support system.  And I guess that in a way, its what I needed to, after a long day, concert....etc.  It was just nice.

But still

I hate week 10.

Next update, info on chicago-

if anyone has any suggestions, that'd be great!

Miss you all!
