JOY to the world.

Not only a famous Christmas carol, but one of the books I've been reading before sleeping; a story of the history of the most beloved Christmas carols.
It's been informative, I feel that in the future I could use this info to my benefit, for sure.

This last week has absolutely flown by.  I find it hard to believe that it's Christmas eve.  When did that happen?
Its glorious too.  I"m not working until the 26th.  Every day last week, when not working I had something else to be at or a concert I was giong to or something.
NOt that I'm complaining...I was able to tagalong with a teacher from Pickerington on Thursday- it was really informative.  Its a great peephole into what could await ...
He teaches in various school levels, including Kindergarten through seniors.  It kinda makes me laugh?  Because some people refuse to learn in our methods classes about (whatever instrument) refusing to take a job, but contracts really do sneak in those extra classes that you'll have to teach I guess.
I've also realized that I'm really not funny.  After you get to know me, you might see me as humorous...but as far as on-the-spot-one-liner humore...definitely not me.  Most good teachers; (good defined as someone who can balance the classroom management with a little bit of fun whilst accomplishing good habits and making music) are funny.  Me?  Not so much.
oh vey to that.

So working on Friday- another 11 hr day; but totally worth it.
TOday, also working- and seeing "The Holiday" --which I really liked.  It was such a cute flick.  Predictable? Yes.  but still warming to the mind.
Tomorrow is church/family/church in the evening too.
And then wham-bam-thankyouma'am- its Christmas.

So I leave you with my least favorite christmas carol:
Little Drummer Boy.
Literally , kinda makes me upset every time I hear it.  So much that while driving in Park PLace (to see the wicked light display) I was not awed by the lights while that song was on.
What kind of mother would let a drummer (and a drummer BOY of all things) come up and play for a newborn baby.  Its not realistic .  I have faith that Mary wouldn't have allowed it.  There for the song is dead to me.
So sorry if thats one of your favs.  NOT to mention the song NEVER ENDS.

Most favorite church-carol:
Oh Holy Night- preferrably done by POint of Grace.
Specific line:
" Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
The thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn"

Hope is good.
I'm at a point in my life where hope is definitely present.  And i like it.
I like it a lot.

Its so easy to feel weary, worn down, like things are just constantly going and never going to give you a break.
But in that constant busy-ness, I find the ray of hope just means more.

So, i'm at a great point here and now.   And this ray of sunshine I've been seeing is great.  And I plan on keeping it around for awhile.
Really.
I do.

Merry Christmas to you all.
Enjoy your family
give them that extra hug or kiss.
whatever.
Happy Holidays all.
