Hellow again! Sorry for the spammage, but I've had a lovely evening and am all buzzy and excited, and things are just generally quite thrilling.
Some things that are thrilling me:
+ That bit in the last episode but one of Downton Abbey Series 1, where Matthew has just rescued Sybil and is eating sandwiches from a silver platter and Mary is being all flirty and then he says "Don't play with me. I don't deserve it" in that amazing voice and GUH oh my god. For some bloody annoying reason it's not on youtube, but it is capped here. [for those of you who haven't watched Downton, DO, and write about it, because there are so many thrilling bits]
+ Freddie's speech about Bel's yellow lamp in Episode 1 of The Hour. Technically spoilers but really just the best advert for the show ever:
"After I gave you that lamp we had that terrible Chinese. It’s an anglepoise because you press your face too close to the page when you read and there’s never enough light. And you won’t wear glasses because you say your nose is too small and with glasses you’d look like a mole. Which you don’t - wouldn’t. They’d suit you, you’d look just as…fairly beautiful as you are. It’s yellow because you said no one wants a yellow lamp, so I thought if I got it for you in yellow then maybe no one would steal it from your desk.
I do give these things quite a lot of consideration, you see. The devil’s in the detail."
Oh god they are just the best ever. WATCH THAT SHOW, GUYS.
+ This Eagle fic (the Thief AU) which is perfect and phenomenally hot; and Passion and Profession, the famous Jane Eyre/Eagle crossover, when St John Rivers goes to India and meets Captain Marcus Aquila of the British Army, and is all tortured and Calvinist and the writing is EXACTLY AS IT SHOULD BE.
+ There's a GOOD QUALITY video of Tamara Rojo and Rupert Pennefather dancing the Grand Pas de Deux from Act III of Sleeping Beauty and it is completely stunning:
+ Michelle Dockery's face
+ James MacAvoy's Scottish accent.

OH! And I now have a tumblr! Wild Cat Island is me - which as you may or may not know, is the island in Swallows and Amazons and for me stands for the best sort of haven and escapism. I actually set it up two years ago on a whim, but never used it, but I think it's really taken off now and anyway it's PERFECT for lazy people like me. :D So yeah, follow me, and tell me who you are and I can follow you too.
