State of the Garden

May 30, 2013 21:06

This is what the garden looked like today - the wisteria is rather faded and I think this adds a bit of a run-down charm to it. Lots of pictures of labelled plants behind the cut.

The strawberry corner with my mom's elbow. There's ginger in the bowl with dirt because I want it to grow a plant. So far this is no success. My guess is, it could need some sun.

Next to the carnations are lilies, radishes and lettuce. They grow like mad in spite of the rain.

Same with the beans. In front of them I planted purple rockcress which is still tiny.

On the other side of the yard it's alternating roses and lavender in front of the periwinkle patch with the peonies. The peony bush already had its flowers.

This picture is from a previous year - this is what the peonies would have looked like last week if there had been any sunshine.

At the wall in the blue bells there's alternating phlox with tomatoes and a clematis.

The back of the garden with the new hydrangea. I'm keeping it in the pot this year because we want to re-arrange this part of the garden in Autumn and this way I don't have to dig it out again.

Some plants move.

The honeysuckle is new, too - and this type of peony hasn't bloomed yet. And more self-moving plants.

One tiny green tomato!

Also, I'm growing drugs:

(Catnip)

All the herbs are on the balcony; these are laurel and my mint collection. In mint condition. I also have sage, thyme, basil, oregano, rosemary, marjoram, lovage, meadow sweat, parsley and chive but no pictures of those.
