Ether Crystals have a strong magnetic charge to them, and as such, are often held in a lead container. The magnetic strength of the crystals is also not consistent with size, as there are some larger crystals with a smaller magnetic charge, and some crystals with a very powerful magnetic charge. The magnetic charge of the crystal is positive or negative has a strong correlation with the crystals color. Shades of White, Red, and Yellow have a positive charge, while shades of Green, Blue, and Black have a negative charge. While there are Ether Crystals of the following shades, Grey, Brown, and Violet have a very weak charge, and sometimes no charge at all.
The colors of the crystals designate different kinetic energy signatures and tactile.
White:
Kinetic: Photo
Visual: Smooth and Rounded
Effects: Luminescent
Red:
Kinetic: Pyro
Visual: Rounded
Tactile: Warm
Yellow:
Kinetic: Electricity
Visual: Slightly Round
Tactile: Static
Green:
Kinetic: Acidic
Tactile: Slightly Angled
Tactile: Corrosive
Blue:
Kinetic: Hydro
Visual: Angled
Tactile: - Wet/Cold
Black:
Kinetic: Umbra
Visual: Sharp Angles
Effects: Caliginosity
Rarity of Ether Crystals is heavily skewed in the direction of White, Black, and Grey crystals, making them worth more than those of the standard colors. It should be noted that White crystals, unlike all the other crystals illuminate their surroundings, while black crystals darken their surrounding. The black crystal is of much interests to the scientific community as its affects seem to not exist anywhere else in nature, and is yet unexplained. The discovery of Black Ether Crystals also resulted in a resurgence of the archaic word Caliginosity, giving it an updated definition.
