Feed by Mira Grant.
HOLY WOW. I MEAN. WHAT. ARRRRRRRGH.
Okay, so. The story is. I finished it yesterday in the car. About 200 pages, all in one stretch. I could not put that sucker down. I was shouting and gasping and kicking my sister's seat, and she was like, "Er, what's up?" and I was like, "CAN'T TALK. MUST READ."
I MEAN.
When I first started it, it felt like a slow starter. I don't remember why, maybe I was distracted. Because it very quickly picked up pace, and then it wouldn't let go! It was like a zombie gnawing on my leg or my brain or both at the same time, and I loved it. Every second.
Brief summary? Brother and sister blogging team, Georgia and Shaun Mason, follow a post-zombie-apocalypse presidential campaign. Twists, turns, conspiracy theories, security guards (who remind me of Rude!), zombie mooses, and awesome technology. Laughter, heartbreak, and tears. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I cried. I sobbed like a baby. I went to bed replaying THAT SCENE in my head, and I worried that I'd have sad dreams/nightmares.
And now I don't know what to do. Feed blew the lid off of what I can expect out of literature, and I don't know if I can get by, even with Charles DeLint and Naomi Novik in my bag o' books.
So, mixed review. Fantastic book, but now I might be ruined for all other books.
