Today didn't start ideally with getting up for work after too little sleep and weird dreams, but got a lot better. I worked at the calm place today, and nothing out of the ordinary happened, so we did a lot of chillaxing and sampling of the gifts from the bosses and family of the oldies. I was strong, though, and tried not to eat too much chocolate, to make this yet another "ow ow, why did I eat that when I know I can't?" Christmas Eve.
Got off work a few minutes early after four o'clock and walked to mom and dad's (the weather had warmed up from -27 in the morning to -16) where dinner was ready within half an hour. Ate too much, but not enough to actually feel bad.
Got a text from
bervera containing a picture of dripping wet Alex O coming out of the ocean (YOU KNOW THE ONE). My phone now has a new background.
Handed out the gifts, but didn't have to do it in an awful warm Santa suit. Got some AWESOME stuff:
# Simon & Garfunkel collection double CD (something I've been wanting on and off for ten odd years) \o/
# Lunch boxes in various sizes
# Pretty mittens
# Awesome Audi upholstery for my gorgeous Lightning
# The Fugitive and a movie with Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson (not the Ten Days one)
# This kit with threads, sewing needles, scissors, buttons and various practical stuff (does this mean I have to learn how to utilize all these things?)
# Gift card for this awesome store that has pretty dragon lamps/trinkets/awesome stuff, as well as jewlery and boots and purses. I APPROVE OF THIS STORE. *
Sat in comfy chair in the living room listening to the CD and relaxing while the tired kids played with their gifts (relatively) quietly. Played board game which I rocked and won, laughed a lot. Got tasty food leftovers. Was only -9 when I left for home (but -14 when I got home, I swear my parents live in a hot spot). Got home and am listening to the CD again.
Good Christmas. ♥
Merry Christmas to all who celebrates, and to those who don't, have an awesome day.
* I should add that
bervera and I exchanged gifts the other day (because we were both working during Xmas) and I got oven mittens, a CD-holder thing you can fasten in your car for easy access, and the Moonlight DVDs. I fear that last gift trumped anything I gave her.
