AH! SHOES!

Aug 10, 2005 17:30

wow...long time since an update...anyways...

I did it. I actually went shoe shopping. *gasps everywhere*

For those of you who know me, you know that I *hate* shopping for shoes with a *passion*. But my grandma....okay, I'd better explain.

You see, these last few months, my grandma has been asking to have lunch with me. Of course I say yes, but I have soon discovered this pattern: we eat lunch and then she suggests going shopping somewhere. It started out harmlessly at Barnes and Noble, then worked it's way into various stores in EP and just today we went to Banana Republic. AH.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm very thankful for my grandma's love for shopping. (And it's not like she can't afford it either. It's something that I realized only recently; my grandmother is quite rich. I probably should've known when they built their second home complete with a swimming pool and hot tub down in Tuscon. I'm not trying to brag here either; it's just a fact. Anways, back on topic...) I really like getting new clothes, and she seems to enjoy buying them for me. I just feel really guilty when she does...like, I have nothing to give her in return. Although I do seem to entertain her when I shop.

I have a method that I like to call "one size fits always". In otherwords; I see something on a rack that I like, and I pick it up, regardless of size. It seems to work; I've only had to get a new size once.

So, today...I agreed to try on skirts. And if I got a skirt, apparently I needed shoes to match, cos my tennis shoes don't cut it. (Like I'd know that?!) We went around to different stores and tried on shoes. I have embarassingly large feet though, so not much fit...oh well. So she convinced my mom to take me...when she gets a job and can afford to.

One of the reasons I allow these excursions to continue is that I really enjoy my grandmother's company. Albeit, I have to be really careful around her (my mother's side of the family is very sneaky and manipulative, you can never let your guard down around them. Especially my grandma) but she does tend to tell all. I've found out so much about my family...things I may never have heard otherwise.

Like The Mess. Yes, it's called The Mess. After The Mess, my favorite uncle didn't talk to my grandma or grandpa...or my mom even for five years. And my other uncle joined a cult. And the other one eloped. And my mom got divorced. And it all sent my grandmother into therapy. So yes, it was a huge Mess. lol. But it's all good now...except my uncle is still in that cult........

So anyways, this was a pointless documentation of an even more pointless experience. I am now off to accessorize. I swear, I'll end up just like my aunt...(she became a fashion designer)...lol okay...don't read on unless you're realllllly bored:
