Hello there.
Many of you know me, and some of you may not (well this is in my personal journal, then hopefully you all know me ^_^ ).
I would like to inform everybody that I am on staff with Pacific Media Expo (PMX) and part of the Fashion Department team, who is bringing you the “Angelic Pretty Wonderland Tea Party,” and Fashion Show at this year's PMX. Myself and many other dedicated staffers are working very hard in order to create entertaining events for you, the fans. A few of our staffers are former Oneesan members who are partially responsible for previous years events both affiliated with PMX, and not. Our Tea Party event will echo past Tea Parties (which are popular events in Japan and USA), but will have its own twist and theme!
I would like to clear up any misconceptions that some Lolitas might have about this year's events. Angelic Pretty has soo enjoyed coming to the USA and interacting with all of you, that when they found out no Fall 2009 event was in the works, they sought us (PMX) out to find out if we could offer a venue. A team of Lolita’s & other hard working individuals (which I’m a part of) where assembled in order to envision and create events that AP and the fans would enjoy.
Another misconception is that because PMX is not a “not for profit” organization, that we will be making money on these events. This is a falsehood. The cost of tickets for the Tea party will barely cover the cost of: food for the tea, flight and accommodation for AP.
And a third misconception that I would like to address is that because AP signed with PMX this year, that we will be the only organization with whom they will do business with in the future. This is not true at all. They are a business and have every right to choose whom they would like to work with. We have no more exclusivity to them then any other USA based group.
We very much wish we could have announced Maki & Askua’s return to the USA sooner, but remember the old saying “don’t count your chickens until they hatch"? It was that mentality that prevented us from making any official announcement until paper work in Japan was signed.
I am very excited to tell everybody that the “Wonderland Tea Party” will be on Saturday, and our Fashion Show will be on Sunday. Both will be events not to miss! Those of you who are able to bid and win Head table ticket will have special/early access to the Angelic Pretty Boutique.
Again, I sincerely hope that nobody allows gossip to discourage him or her from attending any of our events. We are working our frilly butts off in order to create as fan friendly and inviting events as we can!
