I'm pretty new to the James Bond franchise. Casino Royale was actually the first Bond film I saw. Needless to say I was disappointed when I went back to watch the others. I've still only seen a handful, but Sean Connery's movies didn't impress me. I guess I haven't seen Roger Moore's movies, but I probably won't bother. I watched Goldeneye recently and was unimpressed. But tonight I watched Tomorrow Never Dies and I was pleasantly surprised. It's not a good film, by any stretch: some of the acting left something to be desired (I mean, Teri Hatcher was in it), and there was too much silliness for my taste. But Michelle Yeoh's character, Wai Lin ... yeah, definitely fell in love with her. If it weren't for the embarrassment involved with hearting a Bond girl, she might even make my List. She was obviously clever and independent and generally badass and the movie never sabotaged it for the sake of Bond's masculinity. He never got to tap that ass, although I was a bit disappointed to see them kiss in the end. She really won my heart over when she told Bond she didn't even have a copy of the Little Red Book. This after calling him a corrupt, decadent Westerner. And she's cute--for a Chinese.
