As anyone that's listened to me complain during this time of year knows, I hate holidays, except maybe v-day and halloween. But I most specifically hate Christmas and all winter holidays related to it. I have never had a good xmas experience that I can remember, and I work retail which needs no explanation.
This year didn't suck too badly. I got to spend xmas eve at Jeff's, and woke up to get those "I don't know you at all but I want to buy you things" presents like a shower pouf and gloves from his mom. I actually did get something really nice from her, though, which was PJ pants and a top. Jeff and I weren't originally supposed to get each other anything since we've basically decided not to celebrate xmas, but I always love excuses to buy him things. So he got an electric razor and a stuffed monkey from Build-A-Bear. We decided that I'll buy my present for myself, since I need clothing and he can't get that.
It's great to have him back, I was scared to death that something would happen to him in Ireland or on the way there or back. Plus he helps me deal with the stress that is my job. The holidays are finally over, to an extent, but next comes inventory and gift cards and returns. Should be interesting.
I'm still working on learning to drive, but it's been going pretty slowly. Jeff doesn't have a car of his own right now so it's a little difficult for us to just drive somewhere. That should be fixed soon, though, and then I can go take my test and get my learner's. Then I'll have 6 months to take classes and get 40 hours(I think?) of driving time in. I hope he can put up with me through it, when I get nervous I can get pretty annoying.
The great news is that he's willing to help me find a cheap car. I may even get his old car once it gets a new engine. And it's likely to cost me little or nothing. It will need a lot of upkeep, but for my first car I think that's just fine. All I need is a car that goes.
I'm hoping the new year will be calmer and involve more money coming my way. I'm with a great guy(it's been a year and 7 months!), I have a decent job, and I'm finally saving up money to go somewhere with my life. Considering that when I was younger I didn't even expect to get to age 22, I think I'm doing pretty good.
