I'm happy with myself; I have reached the point that, when I can't think of anything to do, my first impulse is to ride my bike. I went on a nice circuit of my part of Elgin, only to discover that the last leg of the trip can't be made safely on a bike. So, I made it Dangerously (you know your last name is an adverb?) and came up with a way to make the same ride (which has an awesome hill to coast down at the end), but I need a second person with a car and bike rack to do it. Yes, I have a person in mind.
I have learned the following:
When someone tells you that there's no outlet, but you can maybe go down that little wooded hill, don't bother. There's a fence at the bottom.
Burrs stick better to arm hair than they do to clothing.
If you resign to taking a shower when you get home before you learn the previous two lessons, learning them won't really bother you.
Even firetrucks give you elbow room when you're riding your bike in the median.
I will undoubtedly at some point hurt myself on my bike.
I didn't actually learn that last, but I'm reasonably sure, since I learned all that other stuff the hard way.
