Suckiness
Well. Good news is, the mystery b-day present was a Fur Real Friends white robo-kitty thing. *giggle* Apparently, it was the #1 hyped-up hot toy this Christmas, but I hadn't heard of it before I got one. I think Dad got it for me because (a) he's a geek like me and wanted to see how the robokitty worked, and (b) he's tired of hearing me bitch about not having a pet at college. Here's the promo piccy of the one I have. I've named it Sybil because it's a little insane; it often hisses for no reason at all. o_O She's got rage issues, but she's still cute. *grin*
Bad news is I got a traffic citation on the way back to IU. Dammit, I have the WORST luck in the entire world. I drove the speed limit almost the whooooole way back. But then, coming through Pennsylvania, I suddenly really REALLY had to pee, so I sped up to get to the next exit. Next thing I know, flashing lights behind me. So I pulled over and sat there for ten minutes, miserable because I still had to pee and because I was getting a stupid frickin' speeding ticket. Luckily, he was pretty nice and made it a failure-to-obey-sign violation rather than a speeding violation, so I won't get any points on my license, but I'm still terrified that they're going to cancel my insurance. I'm already on the high-risk stuff, so if I get kicked off of this plan, I'm totally screwed. After talking with some friends about it (thanks, Ben, Kamil, and Dan!), I was convinced to tell my parents about it because I'd get in way more trouble if my insurance got cancelled without them having any idea it might happen. Dad didn't sound TOO upset, mostly because I was contrite from the very beginning of the call. Luckily, though, I didn't start to cry 'til after I got off the phone. ^_^ That would not have helped things.
What a way to start the semester, huh? Let's all hope my classes are as fun as they sound so I'll have something to cheer me up. And if anyone out there's in a prayin' sorta mood, give the powers that be a whistle for me 'n' my insurance fears. ^_^ It suuuuuure would make life easier if I could drive my car, though the world won't end if I can't. *sigh*
