I am literally going to spoil the whole damn thing so if you have ANY interest in playing it DO NOT READ THIS POST.  BECAUSE IT IS A GAME THAT NEEDS TO BE PLAYED UNSPOILED.

SERIOUSLY THOUGH, SPOILERS BECAUSE I'M PRETTY MUCH ONLY TALKING ABOUT THE VERY END. )

fangirling, it made my day, videa games

Yeah when I was playing I was fascinated with the early interactions with the twins because they worded things in such a way that made it feel like I didn't have a choice even though they were giving me a choice? Like, at the VERY beginning Robert says that there was no point in asking me to row because "he doesn't row" and I was like "why does he say doesn't instead if won't?" But then at the end that all became clear because of that line about "constants and variables." The coin is a constant, the pendant is a variable, and Booker just doesn't row. I can see why people might feel like they deserve different endings based on their playstyle, but I feel like that really depends on the game. I think it works better when the character you play as is not a character. Towards the end Booker started doing and saying things I way didn't agree with (like whoa did you really have to bash Comstock's head against the birdbath?) and then I remembered that I wasn't playing as ME, I was playing as Booker. Even though I made a couple choices, I wasn't HIM.

I feel kinda the same way about multiple endings. I'll play a game like that honestly once, and a second time MAYBE. I'm not interested in getting every ending (Silent Hill being the best example as you said). There are exceptions of course, but I think whether or not you like multi endings depends on what you value most in the medium. Escapism and role playing demand customized endings and choices, but storytelling doesn't. So there's that.
