I was at Wal-mart, helping a man catch 5 fish he really wanted from a huge aquarium of random fish. That's when I noticed their extensive collection of Bettas... oh wow, they are such beautiful fish. They only had males, for the males are vibrant in color and have long tails. Of course they were all in individual plastic containers... if you don't know about Bettas, just know that they're bred to fight. It's in their genes... and I swear, they were fiesty little things. I splurged and bought a 6 dollar container for 2 of them and 2 males. I picked the most healthy, beautiful ones... the whole thing cost only 12 bucks.. and that included rocks for the tank, little plastic leaf things for the tank and Betta food. :3
The tank is 10-sided, but pretty short. There's a plastic divider between the two sides, for they have to be separated or the stronger of the two will kill and eat his opponent. The plastic is of course see-through, so they can see each other.. and boy, are they pissed! It's so funny.. they fan out, snarl and flicker and then ignore each other. Attitude adjustment, please! ;) hehe.
Anywhoo, one is a reaaallllly pretty purple-magenta mix. The other is a dark blue-torqouise mix. They're simply gorgeous... on my way to buy them, I had them in their little individual plastic containers and I accidently dropped the blue one in my clumsy-ness. It cracked and water soon started pouring out. I rushed back to the pet section and quickly saved him by putting him in a bag of water... whew.
I originally wanted to name the blue one Charlie and the magenta one Shish-ka-bob, but my 'rents had other ideas... so I'm going to have a poll. What do YOU think I should name them?
