I've been talking a touch and a tad with my newest stepmother -- and it's been nice. She's a pleasant woman. I keep in touch with her on facebook. I feel bad that she's so far from home and away from her family. That there is not more family here for her. I was fine chatting with her on the understanding that my father was not going to cross that invisible line and attempt to communicate with me.
Yeah. He stepped right on over. After calling me all sorts of horrible names and using rather wretched language ... after the past couple of years of nothing and even very VERY open avoiding of him at my sister's wedding he's messaged me on facebook. He misses me and thinks in retrospect he could have been more tactful.
