A rant
Okay, so, as forewarning. This is my opinion, its not meant to piss anyone off, or start an argument, these are just things that are really starting to piss me off.
The immigration debate. WTF is with this shit? The entire policy is basically saying "if you are different from us, you need our permissiont o live here, even though this country was founded BY FUCKING IMMIGRANTS." For the love of christ, every fucking person who says that people need permissions to immigrate here is a goddamn hypocrite. We all immigrated here, every single goddamn one of us (except native americans). I was just talking to my mother about this, and shes like "it doesnt matter how long it takes, if they want to live here they need to go through the process to be a legal immigrant, rather than just have kids here so the kids are citzens."
Right, because our fucking German/Italian ancestors went through the proper immigration channels back in the late 1800s.
I'm not saying we should have huge open borders, but I'm saying we shouldn't punish people for trying to have a better life. We shouldn't be saying that just because they're different, they have nothing to contribute unless they become a legal immigrant. It's hypocritical, and goes against that whole idea that America is a melting pot, home of the free. I mean, we may as well get rid of the statue of liberty at this point.
