The Year 2008 in Review

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?:
Lose a job, start a teaching job mid-year, take a writing class, move to a new place without my family's helping me pick it out, live without a pet for several months.

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?:

Hah, yes I did. I resolved in 4th grade to never make another New Year's resolution. I kept it. *smug*

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?:

Michelle had baby Elise

4. Did anyone close to you die?:

Grandpa and Jasmine

5. What countries did you visit?:

Insane Kindergartenland

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?:

Sleep, myself and my husband both working full time at jobs with our own benefits package, publishing a story or article in a children's magazine, a Nintendo Wii

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?:

February 15, 2008 My grandpa died
March 8, 2008  My best Tallyton couple friends got married and I was honored to attend
October 20, 2008 I realized just how much crap I was about to sink into with my 20 kids.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?:

I got a job and moved across the state in one week! WOOOO!

9. What was your biggest failure?:

I didn't keep my teaching job in Lee County

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?:

When do I not?

11. What was the best thing you bought?:

Health insurance

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?:

Insert awesome person here.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?:

The McCain and Obama supporters who acted like idiots. <~~~ Christin's answer, but I liked it.

14. Where did most of your money go?:

Loans and rent

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Moving, getting to share things with my kids.

i) happier or sadder?: Happier
ii) thinner or fatter?: About 4 lbs heavier

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?:

Sleeping, spending time in nature, cuddling

Worrying

20. How will you be spending the holidays?:

Between Arcadia and FM

22. Did you fall in love in 2008?:

I do it every day.

24. What were your favorite TV programs?:

NCIS, House, Burn Notice, The Starter Wife, Psych, In Plain Sight...I <3 USA.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?:

Hate is such a strong word...

I don't even remember half the books I read. Check out my library at Facebook. I read a few hundred YA books.

28. What did you want and get?:

A job!

29. What did you want and not get?:

A job in Lee County

30. What was your favorite film of this year?:

WALL-E

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?:

I turned 24 and spent the day hurling.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?:

One million dollars to solve our debt/housing crises.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?:

Does it fit? No? Sports bra.

34. What kept you sane?:

Deric

Dr. Chase. Mmmm an Aussie Hottie

36. What political issue stirred you the most?:

The issues don't stir me as much as I become annoyed by the rude people who try to talk bad about your choices.

37. Who did you miss?:

Jasmine. I still expect to be tripped when heading to the kitchen.

38. Who was the best new person you met?:

Juana Coreano. She holds my hand on the days when I would otherwise pull out my hair.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:

No matter how much you do, if your boss doesn't like you you're screwed. There, the innocent is cynical for life.

 So our computer was dead, but now it is living. The internets was lost, but now they can has being found.
