I have been doing my usual 'school is in, LJ is only for stalking people' thing, but hey, I'm on now. =D
Cordy is ten months old as of yesterday. She's going to her 9 month checkup (timing has been hard) on Saturday and I can't wait to share her stats!
I have two kids this year who are *special* and they are making me a better teacher, because of using new techniques to manage them. I feel more in control of my class and it's all gravy.
I lost two pounds last week from using the calorie counter on my school iPad. Seeing it in front of me is really helpful, but I never was good at tracking before because of not being able to take it with me.
I'm re-reading Orson Scott Card's book Songmaster. I love how he works to give the perspective of his characters so you know what they're really thinking and feeling. Especially when he tells the same part from two points of view.
My parents are in Kentucky this week for my dad's trip to the Knifemaker's Guild convention in Louisville. "I'm confused. Is the capital of Kentucky pronounced Louis-ville or Looeyville?" "I've always pronounced it FRANKFURT!"
Speaking of conventions, I missed Robin Hobb. =( It was either DragonCon or meeting my four week old niece for the first time. I'll meet you one day Robin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *dramatic clifftop with waves crashing below and echoes*
That's about it, really. Team lead is working out ok, but I feel like I am always at work, 6:30-4 or later every day. I miss my girl and husband, but the time is necessary for finishing the job!
