"Now, 'tis time to make a familiar greeting of farewell
However, we shall take up one more descant.
I thank thee for doing thy part, surely thou hast a quick wit!
Thou knowest that together with my hound Blue
We can accomplish the many desires that we wish to attempt."
~Blue's Clues, The long-lost Shakespeare Edition

Danke! We've been watching a little Blue's Clues while Cordy has her afternoon bottle. I loved the show when it was new (geeky future educator watched preschooler TV in high school). The jazz hands made everything worth it. =D
Side note- do you like Yo Gabba Gabba? I know you've mentioned it...but I'm still not sure what I think about it. Mind you, a seven-month-old doesn't need to be watching TV all day long and we don't, but yeah- she liked the colors and repetition. I was confused. Then Elijah Wood started to dance (!!!) and it became epic.

I watched Blue's Clues when it first came out. I was sick with some horrible bug for two weeks and Nick Jr. was all there was until noon. I remember the mascot was Face and they showed the same episode every day all week "just in case you missed it." There was actually a segment on Friday that said, "This is your last chance to see the first ever episode of Blue's Clues!"

For a parent, Gabba annoys and amuses all at the same time. It's really........bizarre. From a child's standpoint, though, it's "awesome." Bright colors are eye-catching for young kids and the demented singing and dancing will suck them in. It's actually on right now and Amelia hasn't moved since it started. O_o

But oh, God, Elijah Wood. That was the first episode! You can totally see that the light in his eyes is just gone. "Why am I doing this? I'm going to kill my agent."

Yeah, we have basic cable, so we supplement with Netflix ($20 a month for the two combined vs $50 to get the Nick/Disney tier). I have all the episodes that have been released to DVD for both. We also have watched Word World, which tickles my Kindergarten fancy but she isn't really impressed. I love Word Girl because Becky is basically me from when I was a kid, I wish I was younger when it came out.

Rachel never got into the shows on PBS. She's a Nick Jr girl for life, I think. Check out Wonder Pets and Nihao Kailan. Those are shows that even I want to watch. :)

I like Kailan...but the Wonder Pets grate on me for some reason. =\ Even though I use their teamwork song in the classroom!

What. The only one that ever grated on my nerves was the gecko because they sang the song so much that Ming Ming said at the end of it, "But I think we've sung this song ENOUGH!"

Can we at least agree that Ming Ming is precious? :) Pretty pretty please?

I think it was because they were in space...? And they didn't want to get hit by an asteroid, "because that would really hurt!" And I KNOW it's a kids' show, but it just felt so....and space is a vacuum....and why am I worried that the animals wouldn't survive when I can suspend my disbelief that they can TALK...and it would 'really hurt?' Really?

And that's pretty much it. Maybe I should give it another shot?
