Chapter 1
My secret power
“Mirai-chan, wake up! We’ll be late for school if you didn’t wake up now.” Mayuko shook the left shoulder of Mirai abruptly.
“Mou… Mayu-chan. Give me 5 more minutes, please.” Mirai was still unclosing her eyes.
SPLASH!
Mirai quickly leaned forward and opened her eyes. Gradually, she could see Mayuko smiling satisfiedly.
“You don’t have to do this every morning, right?” Mirai stood up and grabbed a towel.
“I’ll if you still didn’t wake up. Get ready! I’ll wait you downstairs.” Mayuko quickly ran to the stairs,
Mirai smiled. The reason she didn’t want to wake up was her dream. The same dream that she had every night. Where she could see the face of the person she wanted to meet. It had been almost 11 years since the thing happened.
*Flashback
A little girl walked alone from her school as nobody came to pick her up. She didn’t realize the danger as someone was following her. She was skipping joyfully. Suddenly, a hand covered her mouth. She wanted to scream but she couldn’t. She kept struggled from the hold until everything turned into dark.
When she opened her eyes, a guy was fighting with 7 men. She wanted to move but she couldn’t because of the rope that tied her hands and feet. The only thing she could do was watching the fight. He was so cool, fighting all the men himself. One by one, the men fell to the ground and didn’t move. Lastly, the guy came to her and untied the rope.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
The girl nodded her head slowly and stared blankly at the guy. He smiled.
“I had the dream again,” Mirai said as both of them walking towards a corner.
“Eh? Don’t you think that guy will be too old for you?” Mayuko turned his face to Mirai and raised her eyebrow.
“I think he was about 17 when that thing happened. Not that old.” Mirai tried to defend.
“17 plus 11 will be 28. Isn’t 28 and 16 is a big different?” Mayuko said, convincing Mirai.
“Love doesn’t care about age. Love is blind.” Mirai said the fact with melody in her tone.
Mayuko was about to said something but been disturbed by a voice.
“Hey girls, how was the morning?” A boy came walking beside them.
“Well, I can continue my sweet dream if Mayu-chan didn’t splatter me with water.” Mirai was complaining to Yuto.
“We might be late if I didn’t do that. You can continue that dream tonight anyway.” Mayuko was defending herself.
“You two never told me what exactly the dream about. Tell me about it.” Yuto demanded.
“Sorry, it’s a secret.” Mirai and Mayuko said in chorus and laughed. Yuto joined the laughed after a while.
Yes, a normal life but this won’t last long. An unbelievable fact will change their life and people around them.
Yuto and Mirai walked home together. They were chatting and met Mayuko in middle of the way. The trio didn’t realize that something was watching them. Suddenly, a group of men wearing mask appeared in front of them.
“What do you want?” Yuto asked harshly. Mayuko and Mirai were shocked with Yuto sudden change. They started make moves that hard to be seeing by normal eyes. Yuto moves were fast and also the mask men.
“Mirai, Mayuko, run away,” Yuto instructed the girls. Mayuko pulled Mirai hand and started running. But, they stopped when they saw Yuto been beaten up badly.
“We can’t leave him alone in this situation.” Mayuko ran back to Yuto.
“Mayu-chan, wait!” Mirai was about to start her step but she accidently saw a boy standing on a branch of tree, watching blankly to the fighting scene. The boy clapped his hand twice and the mask men disappeared. The boy turned to her and glared her. He also disappeared in a second.
“Yuto, are you okay?” Mayuko asked worriedly.
“I’m okay,” Yuto wiped the blood at the side of his lips, glancing to Mirai.
“You have some good move just now. I never know you can fight.” Mayuko smiled, helping Yuto stood up. Yuto replied the smile.
“Mirai-chan, let’s send Yuto home,” Mayuko was inviting Mirai but they were no responses from her. She kept staring at the big tree behind them.
“Mirai-chan,” Mayuko tried to get her attention and she failed again.
“Mirai-chan!” This time, Mayuko patted Mirai’s shoulder and higher her voice.
“Ah, yes Mayu-chan.” Mirai was shocked with the approach.
“Let’s send…,” Mayuko couldn’t continue when Yuto interrupted her.
“It’s okay. I can go home alone. I’m used to this.” Yuto didn’t want the girls knew his secret.
“But…” Mayuko still worried.
“I’m okay. I’ll definitely go to school tomorrow. So, see you tomorrow morning.” Yuto quickly ran away from the girls.
That night Mirai couldn’t close her eyes as she kept recalling of what happened today. Who is that boy? Why he had the power to control the mask men? Why he glared at me like that?
“Yuyan, there is a report from Yuto.” Arioka served Yuya with a tea and sit beside him.
“Chess has started their move. They had attacked her this evening.” Arioka continued his talks. Takaki slurped the tea calmly.
“Then, we also have to get started. Yuto can reveal his secret by tomorrow morning. Send him a back up.” Takaki finished the tea.
“I’ll ask Yuuri to help him.” Arioka took the cup and stood up. He walked toward the kitchen.
“Dai-chan,” Yuya called. Arioka turned to him.
“I-I love your tea,” Yuya smiled to hide his nervous.
“Thank you,” Arioka smiled and nodded his head a bit as a permission to go.
Today, Mirai wake up early than always. Mayuko was surprised but she realized that Mirai had acted strangely after yesterday incident. They met with Yuto as usual that morning.
“Good morning!” Yuto said joyfully. Mayuko replied but Mirai was still in her world.
“I have something to tell you, Mirai.” Yuto stopped his cheerful act. Mirai stare at Yuto waiting for the words.
“Yesterday, about the men that attacked us actually theirs target is you. I was ordered to protect you.” Yuto stopped to arrange his words. Mirai was a bit surprised but that fact could be the answer to her question. Why he stared me like that? While Mayuko was really shocked.
“You have something that they wanted. A power. A really great power.” Yuto continued his words.
“Power?” Mirai was shocked with that fact. Yuto nodded his head. Mayuko was making her surprise-weird-strange face.
