The Ultimate Power of Earth [Chapter 24]
“Mayuko, faster! The party is almost starting,” Mirai said from the living room to Mayuko who still in the room.
“Just a minute,” Mayuko answered.
“Ah, the car has arrived,” Mirai said when she saw a styled silver car stopped in front of their house.
“Mayuko, the car has arrived,” Mirai shouted again.
“Wait, I’m still not done,” Mayuko answered. Mirai just sighed.
The party didn’t start yet but almost all the guests were there in the hotel. The decoration of the hall was very well-designed. The chandelier, the lamp on the wall, the carpet, the stage and everything were very elegant even the guests that came were also looked like wealthy person. The hall had three entries; one main entry, North entry and two at the side, West and East entries. The stage was directly in front of the North entry.
Keito and Kei were assigned to guard the East entry.
“I wonder why I stuck with you here,” Kei said to Keito and sighed.
“Don’t you think this is destiny?” Keito said and laughed.
“Actually I want to guard the main entry. However, that Yamada already take my place. But, standing here with you make me feel calm again,” Keito continued his sweet words. Gosh! This guy is cute with that pure white tuxedo. Keito thought.
“Yeah, whatever,” Kei said, turned away from Keito. Coincidently, his eyes meet Yuya who was standing beside Arioka at the middle of the hall. Kei love to see Yuya wearing that black satin tuxedo. It made him more magnetizing. He was talking happily with Arioka and sometimes his eyes looked around. He is still aware of his surrounding although he was with Daiki. Kei thought.
Keito looked at Kei who was still staring at Yuya. Then he turned away looking outside of the hall. Keito looked down to check his shoes. Good, still shining. Suddenly, he realized something sparkling on the floor beside his shoes. Isn’t that necklace looked like Mirai’s? Keito picked it up.
“Ah, that is mine.” Kei said and quickly took it from Keito.
“Yours?” Keito asked, curious with Kei sudden act.
“Someone give it to me,” Kei tried to hide his face. Keito just kept quiet, maybe it just his illusion.
Ryosuke and Yuto were guarding the main entry. Yuto looked like really worried. He kept walking front and back.
“Please stop, Yuto,” Ryosuke said as he could not stand looking at Yuto.
“Why they didn’t arrive yet?” Yuto asked but still walking and looking at his wristwatch. Ryosuke just sighed.
Steps of high heel could be heard by those two. Yuto quickly looked at the owner of the light blue heel from the bottom to the top. She was wearing a baby blue dress that was simple yet looked so cute. The bottom of the dress puffed out make it even looked cuter. She is so beautiful. Yuto thought. His eyes stopped when he meet the opposite eyes.
“Kirei,” One word out from Yuto mouth after a while.
“Thanks,” Mayuko said and chuckled when Yuto didn’t stop staring at her. All this thanks to Hikaru. He picked this dress for me and Mirai. Mayuko thought remembering the day they went to the shopping complex. She chuckled again remembering Hikaru was cross-dressing.
“Mirai, come faster. Everyone already here,” Mayuko muttered on her phone while signing in the guest book. She could see that almost all the guest already sign it and the only one that not was Mirai.
“Sorry, I’m coming near the entry. Don’t worry,” Mirai said from the opposite line.
“I’ll enter first with Yuto. Yamada-san is waiting for you.” Mayuko murmured at bit at the phone. She didn’t want either Yuto or Ryosuke heard it.
“Huh? Wait,” Mirai looked at her phone as Mayuko already disconnected. She sighed and quickly rushed to the main entry. I should go to the hall first before going to toilet. Mirai thought.
Mirai could see that Ryosuke was standing in front of the entry but his eyes were looking at the inner side of the hall. He looks so nice in that black tuxedo with the bow tie. Mirai sighed. He actually didn’t want to wait for me. Mirai didn’t realize that she already close to Ryosuke as she walked slowly towards him. Her mind kept thinking that Ryosuke will never noticed her.
“Mirai,” Ryosuke called Mirai’s name when he saw Mirai was strolling towards the entry looking down.
“Ah, sorry I didn’t notice,” Mirai said when she noticed that Ryosuke was calling her.
“Are you okay?” Ryosuke said looking into Mirai’s sorrow eyes. Mirai was astonished when Ryosuke asked her that. She looked intensely at Ryosuke’s eyes. Did he really care about me? Mirai thought looking at Ryosuke’s concerned eyes. The situation last for a while before Ryosuke gave the guest book to Mirai.
“Let’s go,” Ryosuke said and smiled sweetly. Mirai was astonished again. It was not the first time she saw Ryosuke’s smile but he rarely smiled and every time he smiled it would make her really happy.
Ryosuke gave his hand to Mirai and smiled again as Mirai didn’t response. Mirai was shocked but she took that hand and they both walked in parallel into the hall.
The party was awesome. They invited a band to play some music. The food was delicious. The old man gave a speech and at that time Kota, Hikaru, Takaki and Daiki were guarding him. Then, part that everyone waiting for had come, the dancing. All the dinner tables and chairs were moved to the side of the hall to make sure there was enough space for the dance. The band started the music and everyone slowly dance at the centre of the hall.
“Fukuda Mayuko, would you like to dance with me?” Yuto asked politely, bowing his head and gave his hand to Mayuko.
Mayuko blushed. She became speechless. That was the first time she heard Yuto call her full name. Her heart accelerated. She took a deep breath and took Yuto’s hand.
“I would like to,” Mayuko answered nervously. Yuto smiled and carried Mayuko bridal style to the centre of the hall. Mayuko was surprised. Every one was surprised.
Mirai looked towards Ryosuke who was still guarding the main entry although it was closed. Mirai really want to dance with him. She moved to the side of the hall, she didn’t want to be a burden to those who want to dance at the centre. She stared and Mayuko who was dancing happily with Yuto. She felt happy for Mayuko. You are lucky Mayu-chan. Mirai thought.
“Ryo-chan, why don’t you dance?” Hikaru said as he patted Ryosuke’s shoulder.
“Don’t call me with that name here,” Ryosuke said on low voice but strict.
“Just go,” Hikaru pushed Ryosuke back slowly.
“I’ll take care of this entry with Kota,” Hikaru said as he saw Kota was walking towards them.
Ryosuke walked slowly towards the side of the hall. He wondered why Hikaru kept asking him to dance. He was still in working time. Yuto had an excuse as he had to protect Mayuko.
“Yamada-san,” Mirai blurted out when she realized that Ryosuke actually standing in front of her.
Ryosuke turned back and a bit surprised when he saw Mirai was standing at his back.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to call you,” Mirai became nervous suddenly.
“Do you know how to dance?” Ryosuke asked suddenly. Mirai looked at Ryosuke face and nodded her head.
Ryosuke suddenly realized that Mirai looked beautiful that night. Not because of the pink satin dress or the pure white heels. Not because the sparkling accessories or the simple make-up. She just looked prettier that night.
“Thanks,” Mirai said while they were dancing.
“For what?” Ryosuke asked.
“For everything,” Mirai looked into Ryosuke eyes.
“Don’t you want to dance, Inoo-san?” Keito asked Kei.
“Nope,” Kei answered bluntly.
“I can dance with you if you want,” Keito said.
“Huh? Are you crazy? We are both guy. Everyone will be shock,” Kei answered angrily.
“How about you change to a dress? You’ll looks exactly like a girl,” Keito said jokingly.
Kei want to answer but suddenly …
“Okamoto-san, dance with me,” A girl asked Keito who still guarding the entry.
“No, Okamoto-san with dance with me,” Another girl came and took Keito’s hand.
“I’ll dance with two of two. Let’s go,” Keito pulled the hand of the two girls to the centre of the hall.
“At last he went for good,” Kei said as he really annoyed with Keito.
Suddenly, Kei felt empty in his heart. He felt lonely. He looked at Keito who was laughing the girls. His heart twisted instantly. What is this means?
Suddenly, the lights were off. An explosion was heard. Smoke could be gasped by the members of the hall. Everyone was screaming because of the frightening dark explosion. The sound of the broken glasses could be heard everywhere in the hall as everyone’s sight had been blocked by the darkness. Even the emergency lights were off. The hall was totally dark, chaos and frightening.
