Chapter 9

It’s my fault

“I want money!” A man shouted at a woman.

“You already finished all of it. Nothing left!” The woman shouted back.

“Go find one!” The man commanded in high voice.

“That’s should be your job! Not gambling from night till day!” The woman shouted.

“Nee-chan,” A little boy was holding a girl hand at the corner, watching his parent quarrelling.

“Its okay, Ryo-chan. I’ll protect you.” The girl said and hugged her little brother.

“I want some sleep!” The man entered a room and closed the door harshly.

BANG!

Ryosuke didn’t dare to look at her mother. He looked at the floor knowing he’ll be scold but he felt relieved because this time his sister was with him.

“It was all your fault!” His mother scolded him. His sister tightened her hold to Ryosuke.

“If you’re not born then all this wouldn’t happen!” His mother shouted. Ryosuke’s tears flowed and he started hiccupping.

“Don’t cry! You’re just making noise!” His mother wanted to slap him but she stopped when she alerted of his sister.

“That enough!” Her sister suddenly stood up and faced the woman.

“You don’t have to interfere. It’s between him and me,” The woman yelled at the girl.

“It’s not his fault. He didn’t know anything at all,” the girl pointed at Ryosuke.

“It’s his fault. I should follow what the fortune said. Abort him!” The woman shouted.

“Then, why you’re not aborting him that time. Then, he’ll not suffer like this.” The girl stepped closer to her mother.

Ryosuke looked up at his mother and sister. He gripped his both fist and biting inside his mouth. He was gladded his sister was there but he knew his sister shouldn’t be there.

CRASH!!

The girl fell to the floor and her head was bleeding badly. Broken glasses were everywhere. The woman stepped backward and fell her butt on the floor looking at her daughter body.

“Nee-chan!” Ryosuke quickly went to her sister. He put his sister head on his lap and crying badly.

“Nee-chan!” Ryosuke called.

“I…sor…ry…Ryo…chan,” His sister said while her hand touching her little brother face.

“I…can’t…pro…tect…you,” Her hand was trembling as her breath became uncontrolled. Then, she stopped moving and her eyes closed.

Ryosuke glared at his mother. He stretched his hand pointing to his mother.

“What are you doing?” the woman asked nervously and made a move backward.

Suddenly, blood came out from her mouth, then her nose, her eyes, her ears. Her eyes trembling looked at the blood that fell from her face. She looked at Ryosuke before she fell lying on the floor.

“What with the noise?” His father came out of the room looking around and saw his daughter and his wife lying on the floor bleeding. Then, he looked at Ryosuke who was pointing to his wife.

Ryosuke changed his pointed finger to his father.

“You too!” Ryosuke shouted. His father coughed and blood came out. Blood came out from everywhere and he fell.

The police had come and everyone was gathering there. Ryosuke just looked blankly at his family body. He didn’t say a word or even cried.

“It was her son fault,” A voice was heard.

“Her husband become an addict to gambling after he is born,”

“If I were her I’ll kill him right after he born,”

“I’ll abort him before he is born,”

“He brings the bad luck,”

“This thing wouldn’t happen if she follows what the fortune teller said years ago,”

“Totally his fault,” Ryosuke nodded down didn’t dare to look to the owners of the voices.

“He shouldn’t born,”

“There is not space for him,” Tears flowed slowly down his cheeks and fell to the ground.

“No one will take care of him after this,”

“Poor his family,”

“STOP IT!” Ryosuke closed his ears with both of his hand and closing his eyes. Tears flowed from his eyes.

“He brings the bad luck,” The words echoed.

“NOOO!! STOP IT!” Ryosuke shouted.

“Totally his fault,” The word echoed again. All of the words echoed again and again in Ryosuke mind.

“Please, STOPP!!,” He shouted louder.

“Ryosuke,” Hikaru came to Ryosuke room after he heard the noise. Hikaru hugged him.

“NOO!!” Ryosuke struggled from Hikaru hug.

“Ryosuke, it’s me.” Hikaru hold Ryosuke head and looked into Ryosuke eyes.

“Hikaru?” Ryosuke voiced weakly. Hikaru continued hugging Ryosuke.

“It’s my fault,” Ryosuke voiced out in low volume but Hikaru could hear it.

“No, it’s not,” Hikaru rubbed Ryosuke head gently. Ryosuke continued hiccupping in Hikaru arms. I’m sorry, Ryo-chan. It’s actually my fault.

Yabu looked blankly at the two from the door. He was thinking about the discussion with Hikaru during dinner. Maybe it’s already the time.
