The invasion of tiny orange martians

If I ever wanted to know what it would be like to live in a bottle of orange cordial or witness the slow invasion of slow moving tiny Martians then my dreams have come true. Yester day morning I woke up to an eerie glow  from my window , only unveiling it to discover an orange world. Maybe I woke up in an alternate universe…

(pics sort of taken from unsuspecting Fb contact …meehehe because my sad little phone camera failed miserably why with its horrible blue filter that offset anything orange *grumble*)

Although it looked like impending doom from  near by bushfire it was actually a dust storm. I have never witnessed or thought I would witness one where I live, simply because we’re just so far away from anything remotely dusty. No arid lands stretch out into infinity and the Outback isn't out back.  But there were strong winds ( also uncommon ) which was meant to have lifted drought-ridden fields and carried to the east coast and into the sea. Spring Cleaning anyone?

This was the state of the station at 6 am I got there at 8 and nothing had changed. And went I ventured into the city it only got worse. But if this looked eerie i’d only be able to imagine how people in the western sydney felt when they plunged into darkness.

Sigh, but I look out the window today and see the reassuring blue of the sky. Now I hav to get to uni …major group presso … public speaking..eek!

life oh life, sandstorms
