Like most women, in weak moments (such as when I'm sick, tired & completely depressed) I have a pechant for self-inflicted torture. I read / watch romance novels / romantic movies. It's like that scene in Sleepless in Seattle where Meg is watching the An Affair to Remember and she's sniffling / snivelling. Sad image huhn?
Even in these pathetic images there's always humour, like the commentary provided by a helpful friend or family member who watches it with you, for example: "you'll end up like that one day" while pointing to the sad figure of the heroine before she gets any recognition or the happy ending, of course with the added line "and you probably wouldn't score him" (meaning the hero/love interest. I rented out 27 Dresses, Marsden looks good... but still seem youngish. Doesn't really look his age. I was intending on getting out Enchanted but "McDreamy" is just too much for me... ;p as in I don't like his characters.
Oh wait, I've forgotten the point of this quick post. Work is driving anything non-work-related out of my mind. Erasing it and well... erasing it again. In binary terms, does that "bring it back"?
Ok, I have to admit getting drenched on Saturday was an omnious start. to a lovely long weekend. Slight disagreement with my food that evening, made every moment run together in clinching pain. Sunday... hmmm nothing much to say about Sunday really. It's been passable. Today... sunny brilliant, so I decided not to go into work. :) I am proud, very proud of myself. :P If you don't understand that reference, then nevermind.
Ok back to romantic movies, novels are not as much fun... there's only a few good authors out there. And in the finale, the female protagonist always caves. *shrug* but there you go that's your happy ending, or happily ever after. No one likes a true cynic. ;p So I happily confess I'm a romanic, a hopeless one at that. Yet still, I wouldn't be as stupid as Heigel's character to attend and plan 27 weddings ;p Ok so I'm not a huge fan of the event. It's someone's personal special day... somewhat extravagant and money sucking black hole sort of grand day... (esp. in the movie scences... and well even some of the ones I hear about). It's not as if she was "GREAT" friends with ALL the brides. I don't believe any one woman can have 27 best girl friends. Wait, she wasn't their best friend, she was just used to plan ALL the weddings. HA. And damn, that b*tch of of a sister... Ok, there's way too much talk of weddings - other than work, stupid romantic "comedies" and pregnancies & what-not... there's something wrong with the water at work I tell you.
Tomorrow it's back to the real world. Hmmm in the mean while, I shall go and watch Ratatouille. Yes, I am a Disney fan. That's the end of my horrid confessions. Oh, and yes I'm going to watch Kung Fu Panda, whether or not anyone goes with me ;p
