Sherlock Holmes (2009)

So, I just watched this today. Er, yesterday---A couple of hours ago. Point is, I LOVED IT! I haven't watched something so unbelievably engaging in a long while. Okay, actually, I just have an abnormal love for eccentric and witty characters. Take Captain Jack Sparrow, for example. Anyway. It's been YEARS since I read any of the Holmes story----so to be perfectly honest, I didn't remember much. Whatever though, that doesn't matter. What matters is what I loved about the movie. It was three--um, four things actually.

First off, Downey's Holmes. Beautiful. It was like "THUMP THUMP!" Perfect! I got the same feeling I got when I saw Jack Sparrow for the first time. I don't know why I'm even associating the both of them together. They're sort of a like. You know. Sort of. I doubt the movie would've been as good as it was if Downey wasn't Holmes. Gawd. Now the mental image of Downey=Holmes will me embedded in my mind forever. You know, normally I'd be more detailed with my comments but, I'm actually quite tired right now and making sense doesn't really matter to me.

Secondly, the music. Hans Zimmer. I love you. 'Nuff said. Waddya know? More PotC links <3

Thirdly, Watson. In my mind, he was a bumbling fool last time I checked. In this movie? He's no fool. COOL COOL COOL. HOT. COOL. Etc. I'm not putting any effort into this obviously.

Finally, the most important thing. If I REALLY, REALLY, like a movie. It can only mean one thing.

The slash. SLASH. WAS. EVERYWHERE.

I was expecting slash. I mean, WatsonxHolmed. Come on, right? BUT DAMN. It was in ABUNDANCE. It was all---omg ... I can't even begin to start naming the number of scenes I started fangirling madly about. Holmes looking like a jealous puppy whenever Watson moving out was mentioned. Or how he would do all these things just to warrant some of his attention. Like forgetting his gun so that Watson would chase after him. AND Watson being completely aware of these actions. God. That scene where Holmes was falling asleep leaning on Watson's shoulder for half a second was just epic giggle material right there. And I love LOVE that argument they were having at some point with Holmes never failing to mention how the properties in the house were "THEIRS" not "his" but "THEIRS"

Watson: My dog.
Holmes: No, OUR dog.
Watson: MY dog.
Holmes: no, no, it's OUR dog.

And such. Srsly. It just drove me nuts.

I want to watch it again. I can't wait to have it on DVD. I want the instrumental soundtrack. WANT WANT WANT!

PS:

One last scene worth remembering.

Maid: -walks into room, seeing Holmes naked on a bed, his wrist chained up to the bed posts, a pillow is covering holmes' vitals-
Holmes: Ma'am, beneath this pillow lies the key to my release. ---Now don't get me wro--
Maid: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA -runs-
Holmes: Of course, she takes it wrongly.

Or something to that effect.
