Cosplay stuff - Still in Lancaster.
So as most of you already know we won't be able to make it to Tekko this year. The positive is that we'll be saving money. And I know I really need to save, it'll be nice to put more towards Otakon.
Speaking of Otakon. I still had some left over from a gift-card from Joanne's and some awesome coupons and started getting the fabric together for the Haunting ground stuff. Not a whole lot, just a few things. I really want to get good fabric and it was harder to match up the right kinds of fabric with the small store that we have, so when I get home I'll have to check out the bigger one sometime. I didn't get enough to actually start making anything, I need some of the little detail things for Fiona and to get the fabric for Daniella.
But with my left over fabric from my Miku costume I was able to make Kay's skirt. It was pretty simple to do.
Enjoy a nice blury photo. Short skirt is SHOOOOOOOORT. Seriously. But Kay wears her skirt so short. When I first saw the image I was like "wtf Kay, that isn't so great for thieving". But she actually wears these little shorts underneath them. So when she bends over its not like SURPRISE PANTIES. Which there is some serious issue with, because it just covers everything that needs to be. So I was thankful about the shorts.
ALSO. I started working on the wig. I love having all this material sitting around. It's made from my old Maya wig and another black wig I had sitting around (meant for Yuuki but I got the wrong color, glad I kept it all this time). Ugh. But making wefts were hellish. The hair was getting EVERYWHERE. I lost a good portion of hair when I dropped some of it on my desk. Guh. I still don't have it attached yet, I just finished up the pony tail part, I still need the sort of pink thing that wraps around the base then attach it. See...this is what happeneds when I'm home alone for too long. I get productive in all the wrong places.
And for a bonus, me trying on the base part of the wig to see if it looked alright. Lolol me with short black hair.
Now for a bit of scary. So on Sat my friend Nicky messages me and asked me to do something. I invite her to come over because I was too lazy to go out and I was working on my skirt. Well on the way over to my apartment she was mugged. Three guys come up to her, one holds her while two pat her down. They steal her wallet and PSP. She starts screaming and the one punches her in the face. She runs and makes it to my apartment safely. But still. Crap ton scary. We called the police and made a report. Mad scary.
