(no subject)
So HOLY CRAP I finally got some housing info in my university email account. I'm on the first floor. :( I really wanted stairs. Don't ask me why. I'm sure it has something to do with compensating for my height.
My roommates' names aren't nearly as exotic as Sara's, but that's Michigan for you. About the most exotic you'll get around here is Canadian, and even that's kind of rare. So instead of Teutas and Jherris, I've got a Rebecca, an Ashley, and an Alicia. Good sign #1: None of them are named Karen. I think that'd be a bad omen. DX
Oh yeah, and I also ended up in Downing Hall, which is pretty much the same thing as Buell, except I think it's a little closer to where most of my classes will be. And yeah, extra long mattresses. Sigh. I'll be ordering that comforter as soon as I get back from Pennsylvania, as well as some matching bedsheets...
And I'm starting to worry a little bit about finances. As it turns out, my total estimated college costs for the year are $14,774, and my student loan is $11,774, and I got a $3000 scholarship. So as far as the estimated costs go, I'm barely scraping by. By the time I take off to school, I'll have around $2700 saved up. I'm not getting a job the first semester (unless I'm really fucking bored), so I'll have no source of income for the first time in 3 years. IT'S SCARY OKAY.
I'm going away now. Whee.
