I heard from my undergrad. research advisor the other day, which was a welcome surprise. He wanted to know how I was doing, how things were, and told me about what was going on with the project I left behind (dealing with mating behaviors of the male sheepshead minnow, Cyprinodon variegatus). He's a great guy with a great sense of humor, and we had a lot of fun- even though he has gone a bit to the birds (he is an ornithologist after all... there's no accounting for taste...)
Anyway, I told him things were going well, even though I had a bit of a rough start. However I now seem to be getting into my groove, although it means having no life and no sleep.
Here was his reply: "Good to hear from you so soon, stop whining and get to work........there, I'm sure that makes you feel like you were back home here at good ole ESU."
Doesn't that just give you warm fuzzies?
