The election

Stop complaing about Bush's win. Big deal. Look in history-we have never changed presidents in the middle of a war. So Kerry lost. Big friggin deal. Get. Over. It.

It isn't like he would have been any better, anyway.

And people wonder why I am not registered, sheesh.

It IS a big deal. Why should we refer to history as a precedent, anyway? Who's to say it was RIGHT that the nation never changed presidents during a war, anyway? There are so many things that aren't going to get fixed in the next four years, so many things that the next four years under a LIAR of a president that are going to inevitably transpire and escalate, that I think that it is up to the people to give a shit about it! You're not being registered is nothing noble, friend. It's just being indifferent, and in my opinion, taking for granted the one of the freedoms this country might--who knows?--be on it's merry way to losing (coughCORPORATEAMERICABUYINGTHEELECTIONcough).

Ahem.

I dunno. If you want to be apathetic now, I hope you enjoy the next four years of being apathetic, too. And, you know, I could relate to Kell's anger in his saying "drink bleach and die". The country's pretty damn divided by now, and by saying you don't give a shit, you're asking for comments like that. Especially right now. So, yeah... You didn't vote, so I'd say you sort of forfeit your rights to bitch at any of us for expressing our opinions, on our own journals! (Since after all, you're the first one to be unhappy when people chastise you on your journal when you complain about personal issues, which I daresay doesn't hold nearly as much gravity as the state of the nation.) =P

To vote or not to vote... lwashburn February 23 2005, 06:38:27 UTC
This is my opinion on the matter...not that it will make any difference, but bare with me for a second....I am a registered voter. Whether I be Republican or Democratic is no ones business but my own because it creates too much controversy. Now, had I said I was not a registered voter, I would have gotten the same scolding as Julie, which is nothing more than people trying to A.)Try and change how you feel about voting or B.) make you feel like you are less of an American than they are because you did not vote.
Had I said I was a Republican, I would have gotten the same response from the Democrats and vice-versa. So answer me this, please, if our country was founded on freedom of choice...etc.....why do people insult and degrade other Americans for simply having an opinion? If ANY OF YOU think you can do a better job, not that I'm saying Bush is a great President, by all means, step up and run for office. Looking at these past comments, all I see are insults and attacks over a simple opinion. You have yours, she has hers. End of story. What makes you feel you are any better of a person than she is?
