Driving License

Good things happen when you least expect them. On Saturday I passed my driving exam. It was weird, because I just did my best calmly, I had 7 minor errors out of 14. And then my instructor told me that he didn't want to discourage me, so he didn't tell me that the center I chose for the examination had the worst percentage of pass...48%! So I did good, and I'm happy. I have my driving license! So I sent an email to the people in Kala-upapa...But you wouldn't know anything about that! While doing job hunting on the internet I found an awesome web with jobs for US citizens, and I saw the most amazing jon in the world. It's a position of archaeologist for the Kala-upapa National-Historical Park. And yes, that name IS Hawaiian. :) SO I applied putting extra care in the writting of my CV. The job is incredible, the park is in a peninsula in the island of Molokai, in 1866 king Kamehameha (don't laugh!) decided to seclude Hawaiians with hansen's disease in the Kalaupapa peninsula, and they remained secluded and isolated for 100 years. There's still a population of 110 living in their traditional ways. The area was named Historical Park as a homage to the people secluded there, who did not receive any medical attention nor help. The scenary is stunning, and the job includes recording oral history from the locals and doing survey by walking, in 4x4 or my helicopter. The park is forbidden for kids under 16 and only people working for the park can stay overnight/live in the compound. The only way to get to the park is by air or walking. The more I say it the more gorgeous it sounds. That is the definition of my dream job.

So, as I was saying, I got my driving license and sent them an email to tell them so, and I just received an email saying that I passed the first cut and will go for the next round. I'm so happy! I might not get it, people from Hawaii have priority and also people with hansen's disease. However, I'm happy because I wrote my CV so well that it payed back! It got me to the next round! And just for that, I'm proud of my self. I cross my fingers! I do want to get that job! But now I know that my CV can be sexy for someone out there! :)
