End of the World
Ok so I want to talk about this Rapture and end of the world business. Its been all over the place lately and to me it is kind of ridiculous. It's not just the rapture that was supposed to happen last saturday. A lady told me that the end times were coming and it wasn't related to the crazy rapture guy. She was looking forward to the end of the world, like it was the best thing that would happen to us all.
What I want to know is why would someone want the world to end. Why would anyone want the apocalypse to actually happen. well I guess if you believe that the end is going to happen you will get raptured the hell out of the bad stuff that is going to happen. But then it leaves the rest of the human race who don't believe in the same things they believe? All the people who don't agree with them who will not be raptured into heaven.
What did most of those people do wrong that they deserve to be tortured and killed and who knows else? Just because they were not a Christian or not the right kind of Christian? Why do these believers deserve to be taken to heaven just because they "know Christ?" And why do these people not realize that even though they will be safe and sound in heaven there are a lot of people who will be suffering just because God said so?
Yeah yeah I know about the book of Job but that is a story. It's meant to be taken with a grain of salt. And if you think about if Job was actually real God already made his point about making his life miserable. What is the point of making millions and millions of people suffer?
And then we have people prophesies when the end times is going to happen. But the problem with that is the fact that in the bible it even states that only God will know when those times will happen. no one else.
Honestly I don't want to worry about when the world ends. I rather worry about more important things like what I am going to do in the future. If the world is truly going to end in october what is the point in thinking about the future? What would be the point in doing the things I normally do? Go to College, get a job, do something worthwhile.
There would not be any point in doing any of that because the world is going to end and my goals would be worthless.
So I say to you doomsday people, and I'll say this nicely, please shut up.
