Back from the Land of the Rising Sun

(Before you begin: if you have me on myspace too, this is the exact same entry... =3)

Ok, so Raul and I went to Japan for 3 weeks, as some of you may know...

It was incredible! We had so much fun, spent so much money and ate so much good food it's crazy! We were in Tokyo fro 5 days and then we went to visit Scott in Tsugawa for about a week and a half and then spent 4 more days in Tokyo before coming back.

In Tokyo we went to Ueno park (huge, beautiful park. We went on 3 different days and we still didn't finish seeing everything!);Ameyoko-dori, which used to be a black market and now is just a market street with really cheap food; Akihabara, where we bought lots of Anime related stuffs and some electronic stuff too. We also went to the Imperial Palace, Harajuku to shop and look at the j rockers/poppers visual Kei-ers and the like; the Meiji shrine, Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower. (We went to Akihabara twice, hehe).

Our hotel was reaaally close to Ueno, Ameyoko and Akihabara! Walking distance! Everything's really close together; it is a small country...

When we visited Scott we went to the Aquarium, Tsurugajo castle (home of the Shinsengumi), Niigata city, and we ate at several delicious places. Among the delicacies, we ate at "the best ramen shop ever", and one evening with other ALT friends of Scott's we went out to eat and drink and ate lots of different things, including raw horse, it was really good! Raul was kinda sad about eating a horse, but... oh well... I still think it was good.

We also hung out a lot at Scott's place with him and his super sweet and cute girlfriend Tamami, God she's a sweetheart! They were both great, and Scott was awesome for letting us stay there with him, we really missed him a lot. So we did a lot of stuff, it was unbelievable, and beautiful… the only bad thing is... we don't know how long it will be 'till we go back...

So anyway... here's the link to my album. I took 1000 pictures, so I made a smaller album with only 232; the ones I think are the best... I tried not to include a lot of my "artsy" pictures, because I don't know how interested anyone would be in seeing them, so I put the best touristy pictures up on line.

Glad to be back... kinda... it was nice to get away... =3
