After my webhost and my computer both decided to die at roughly the same time, my picture stash of them is a bit empty. I'll have to pull some together and take a few pics.

Basically, I take an old harcover book and disassemble it. Then I cut off the spine, finish the edges, cut down some really smooth paper, put brass grommets in the covers, bind it up with either zip ties (cheaper) or recloseable coated braided steel loops. The whole book is held closed (or open) with an elastic strap. There is also a repositionable clear plastic sheet that lets you ink and color without it bleeding to the next page. Both bindings make it so you can remove and replace pages without tearing or cutting the paper (the zip ties would get cut off and replaced with new but the steel loops are designed to open and close) and you can swing either cover all the way around to the other side for support or to maximize space. The elastic can hold the book closed, hold pages down if it's windy or hold reference material on the page facing what you're drawing.

They are very strong and will hold up to much abuse.
Since it's late and I rambled feel free to email and ask a question or many or just post here :)
