I got my SAT scores back today. I'll get the full score report Saturday (except I'll be at SAC, so I won't look at it till Monday evening, earliest), and then I'll know how many I missed and all that shebang.
OVERALL: 2330. If I had taken the old SAT, it would be a 1550.
CRITICAL READING: 750. I don't think that I omitted any.
MATHEMATICS: perfect 800. Obviously I omitted none.
WRITING: 780. Again, I don't think I omitted any. I do not yet know what I got on the essay, or what the exact prompt was, but it was something like this:
Does being allowed to do things one's own way cause one to accomplish more?
That's far shorter than it was, but that's the gist of it. I wrote about Albert Einstein, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Leonardo da Vinci, and Pablo Picasso, arguing that yes, being allowed to do things one's own way let one accomplish more.
I took the test on January 28th, the same day as the Australia Day Party at Ivegotanaxe's house.
That morning I was somewhat nervous, considering that the last time I took SATs (then the SAT IIs), I found them rather difficult, and did not get the greatest of scores (Latin 510, Chemistry 680, Math II 760). In truth, I found almost al of it incredibly easy, and I always had time to spare, except on the essay, where I wrote past the time limit for about a minute ^^ Mr. Gunning (who was my AP Bio teacher) was the proctor, though, so even though I was in the front row he did not say anything, if he even noticed. The hardest bit (as my scores indicate) was some of the critical reading bits. Sometimes it seems like none of the answers work, or else I cannot decide which is correct of two that I think would work. I suppose I still did an outstanding job, so I shouldn't complain.
I'm just happy that this means I do not have to contrive some way of taking them again before I apply for colleges, since there are no test centers in Japan that I know of.
After the SATs, I went right to Ivegotanaxe's house, where I proceeded to be rather hyper because I was relieved that the SATs were over. I lent the Torreador a book called How to Live With a Neurotic Cat, and returned her book 101 Cataclysms to her. I began writing a card for Nil to go along with the Elf hat I knitted for him, but did not get very far because I was hyper and kept getting distracted. I ate ramen for lunch, and at some point Nil and his family arrived. The giant foldable ball thing got taken out, and his siblings played with it. His parents left for a friend's house, and we all hung around doing nothing of import for the next several hours. The torreador and Mozzle and William all played flash games and Neopets and suchlike, and Ivegotanaxe and Nil and I watched them on and off. Mozzle and Liam spent a lot of time running around and jumping on Nil and me, and we played with them. Oftentimes all or some of us were all cuddled on the couch, though we had to kick Mozzle out sometimes because he kept kicking people and jumping on them. At some point Nil's parents returned and soon after Nil and I took Kerria (and then Liam, too) outside to play. We played with the little Hotwheels cars, and then played a couple rounds of hide and seek. At around 5:30 or 6, Nil's whole family headed off to the house of a friend of his father's, and they invited me along (to see me was the main reason they came up), so I went along. She is some sort of psychology teacher at a graduate school, I think, though I'm not sure. Around 7pm we went back to Ivegotanaxe's house, because it was time for the party to start. I was babysitting, so I spent the whole time in the kids' area (the bedrooms of Ivegotanaxe and their siblings, and the hall and bathroom in the same wing). I ate a hotdog, a piece of lamb, and Lamingtons for dinner, mainly the latter. I also had a few pieces of Australian candy, since there were goody bags. It turned out that we had exactly the right amount (30) for everybody to have one, but Nil did not get one because we did not know if we would have enouhg by the time they left a little before 9.
I spent the rest of the weekend at Ivegotanaxe's hosue, except for a few hours' trip home to do some stuff for scouts and to pick up my backpack. It was Ivegotanaxe's first day at the high school on Monday, so I asked if I could stay and go with her (she hasn't been in regular school since 3rd grade). The answer was yes, as it usually is. I love my doppelganger's family. Her first day of school was fine, but I'm not going to go into it, because I wasn't with her for most of it, and most of my day was ordinary. Now I have left her alone at the high school, and begun homeschooling today. I think I prefer it.
