So! The new Marina and the Diamonds album - it's very… dance-y 80s, isn't it? I'm not saying it's a bad album, because it isn't, it's fun and great to sing along to while driving, but The Family Jewels had a certain edge to it, a bit of an honest nastiness about the world. And that edge is still sort of in Electra Heart in the lyrics, but it sort of got buried in the upbeat tempo.
And anyway, it sort of suffered because Florence and the Machine's new song came out on the same day, and Breath of Life is such a gorgeous, epic, haunting song. SIGH. her music is so beautiful I just kinda want to roll around in it forever :3
Avengers out tonight in here! And because life is like that, it seems like the tickets ran out. WHY. WHY WORLD.
