Doctor Who 5x07 - Amy's Choice: OMG SO GOOOOOD. Completely loved the episode, from the varying realities and and the switching and the incredible character introspective and insight to how beautiful it all looked. It was fun and exciting and yet dramatic without being emo (!!!) and just around a lovely episode.

The ponytail! The ponchos! Peruvian folk band! bow-tie abuse! octagenarians attacking people with their canes! Cold stars! Trippy episode. And the ending only makes it more interesting, because yes, he is competing, and moreso, he subconsciously wants to win. Wants to get Amy - as a prize? As a companion? Or maybe he just wants her? interesting stuff. And then Amy chooses Rory, no questions asked, and uuuugh, now I'll feel wrong about shipping Amy/Eleven because she clearly loves Rory. And Rory is awesome. OT3, anyone?

The contrast is so good, though. Rory wanting a simple, quiet life, Amy being completely bored by it (but willing to defend it!) and wanting the adventure, simply because she doesn't want to grow up. And they're both willing to compromise. SIGH.

The TARDIS frozen was such a beautiful visual. So was the cold star. SIGH. SO GORGEOUS, THIS EPISODE. SO GOOD. ♥

Yesterday I watched The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, which was beautifully shot and trippy and delightful, if a bit hard to follow. The visuals! The colors! The weirdness! Maybe it is a bit too weird, though. And today I watched Robin Hood, which was ok and exciting, but as I told the boy (who is, incidentally, a Robin that went to Nottingham uni, lol) it is pretty much Gladiator 2: This Time We Save England. Only with more archers. And less backbone/thinky-thoughts. Still a gorgeous soundtrack though.

eleven brings all the wank to the yard, recs, a little bit fairytale amy pond, doctor who, movie rec
