I've realized something really weird about State of Play. Sadly, because I'm shallow like that, it has nothing to do with the plot. And everything to do with John Simm. While I'll admit he's not the hottest man in the universe, I do find him fairly attractive and yet, for the life of me I can't think of him as good looking while he's wearing the guise of Cal McCaffrey. Maybe it's the beard? Maybe it's the godawful clothes? Maybe it is that his character, while well constructed, isn't really all that lovable? Perhaps. Because I always wanted to hug Sam Tyler real tight and I wanted to do unspeakable things to the Master, SO. I'm conflicted.
Maybe it's the fact that he's surrounded by such handsome men as James McAvoy. Then again, that never distracted me while he was onscreen with David Tennant (in fact, I liked him more when he was onscreen with Tennant, but that's not here nor there) Anyway, I just found out BRAD PITT of all people will be playing Cal in the remake. LOL LOL LOL. How incredibly bad-casted is that, anyway? XDD
In any case, I'm up to ep. 4 and I'm waiting oh so anxiously for the last episodes to be uploaded. *bites nails*
It's also come to my attention that I've read quite a lot of books in the last two months. o_O
Let's see, it looks something like this:
The Kite Rider by Geraldine McCaughrean
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Mientras Ellas Duermen by Javier Marías
Asalto al Infierno by Oscar de la Borbolla
The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
I re-read:
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Cien Años de Soledad by Gabriel García Márquez
And I'm currently reading:
Autumn's Bridge by Takeshi Matsuoka (this is a re-read as well, though)
The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett
The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman
Considering I read like, three books in the entire last semester (I KNOW, I KNOW), this is pretty pretty good and hopefully, I'll keep it up. At least until I, you know, END UP POOR from buying so many books, lol.
