Well, I finally saw the Veronica Mars' finale. I know, I know, I'm awfully late, but you know me, I'm all for procrastination.
I actually liked it quite a bit. It felt more like the show I fell in love with than the rest of the season, probably because there were so many elements from the first season - The Kane's being back in town (sort of anyway), Weevil finally having more than two seconds of screentime - the same as Wallace, Veronica taking revenge, repercussions about Beaver's suicide, Dick being a human being, Veronica as a social pariah again, and, more than anything, ZOMG THEY BROUGHT LOGAN BACK. The asshole-y self-righteous jackass from the first season, the one that would go for the kill before asking questions, the one that works so well with Veronica. I'd begun to think that guy was dead, after so much time of moping around. Adding so much to a two-hour finale wasn't the best idea, but it was handled surprisingly well.
The Castle storyline was cool, if only because I find secret societies incredibly interesting, and it was a pretty good catalyst for Keith going back to his morally ambiguous storyline and for the audience to see just how actually little Veronica respects the law. Ah, Piz. I so liked him, even if he got reduced to being The Nice Guy, because that last glance between Logan (actual Logan, not Mopey!Logan) and Veronica was so damn charged. Oh, and also, ROB THOMAS IS A WHORE, LOL LOL. XDD
Why, oh why couldn't the writing for the third season be like the writing in these two eps? And even they weren't as good as any of the eps in the first season. *sigh* The ending, well, okay it was too open, but I'm okay with it. We know the essentials, after all - the finale made a good show of going back to the beginning - Keith possibly as a PI, Veronica ostracized from her classmates, her without a boyfriend because I doubt Piz and her would survive for a long time, as much as I like him; Weevil as the not-so-good guy, Neptune's police under the reign of an incompetent sheriff and Veronica and Logan having a love/hate relationship that isn't precisely healthy but so right for them both. Only, Veronica now has Wallace and Mac on her side. Seeing it like that, you have to admit it, that was a thing of beauty. Cyclical. I love that. Well, you'll be missed, Veronica, you were a force of nature. ♥
Aw, man, now I SO want to go back and rewatch the first season. So much. I asked an aunt to get it for me when she was in the US a couple of weeks ago, but she couldn't find it anywhere, woe, and it's so incredibly expensive in here. *sigh*
In other news, I found out today that Stardust won't come out here until September 21. Damn. And I was sooo looking forward for that movie, I'm seriously all hyped up for it. ;___; (I did, though, get to make my mom interested about it, so score, I guess.)
