A little bit of everything, and oh, look! A drabble request

Dad, Memo and me all sneaked out today to go get my mom gifts, and then, we promptly ruined the surprise when we had to call her to ask for her ring size. *HEADDESK* At least my gift is still a surprise, though. And Memo doesn't know he's getting something from me either.

My iPod's break down yesterday kinda ruined my evening, since we went downtown to see a little spectacle of dancing fountains (which kinda look tiiiny after seeing the Bellagio's fountains, but there you go), and went to have dinner at a fancy restaurant, but all I could think was "OMG WHAT IF THE IPOD DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE, NOOOES, MY SAMMY!!" *sigh*

Other than that, I finished reading Travesuras de la Niña Mala (Mischiefs of the Bad Girl) by Mario Vargas Llosa the other day, and oooh, it was so good! It's so well written than I didn't really acknowledged the 1st person POV until I was like, 100 pages into it. A lovely, intriguing story - A man forever in love with la Niña Mala, this free spirit that always has a new name and identiy everytime he sees her. I really recomend this one. And how sad it's that this one, Julio Cortazar's End Game and the translation of The Perfume are the only books in Spanish I've read in months?

Mmm, I really, really wanted to write SPN fic this week, but my muse seems to be out of town (she seems to be traveling through Europe, in the middle of a deep, passionate affair with pink_faerie81's muse, wearing a tie and joining the gypsies), I and just had to finish Let Me Take A Taste Right Off Your Lips before that story gave me an aneurism, or something, ugh. But now that that's done... zip, nada from my muse. *sigh* I do seem to be in the mood for crack, though, so, the first comment in this post with an SPN prompt gets a drabble. *nods*

Now, I'm going to Monterrey and then the US next week, and it's a 10 hour drive to Monterrey and 3 more to the border, so, please, my dear flist, could you rec me some music? I'm kinda tired of all of mine. I usually like alternative and indie rock, but, I'm open to new things.

prompt me, recs, book rec, self-plug, book review
