getting ready for winter.
so everytime i try and use livejournal now my computer freezes, so hence the no updates over here. Anyways.....We've been getting ready for winter over here in Limington. I've got 50 bales of hay in, and i would like another 50 or so, the wood is in the shed. We are slowly but surely getting ready for the cold and snow.
Today i picked some apples from our tree but i need an apple ladder to get the ones that are up high. i do have an apple ladder, but i'm too lazy to drag it out. We will be making apple pies this weekend and giving some to the neighbors who helped out during the winter when my Dad was sick.
i'm thinking of getting a goat or two to eat the over growth in the horse pasture and around the yard. i'm also looking into getting another horse, but that will be a long time coming. i've seen a lot of horses that are being saved from feeed lots and from being shipped to slaughter in Canada and i'm thinking i may save one of those guys but, again, it's going to be a while before i can bring another horse home. i figure for now a goat or two will keep Gypsy company and be useable around here as a brush mower. i've also thought about cattle, but i really don't know that much about cows and other then meat and milk i don't see a reason to have one around.
Yes, i have gotten back into the farming life. My Mom and i are deciding what to do with the house. She's thinking of buying a condo and handing over the house to Damion and I. i'm just not sure if i can run this place on my own, labor wise, i do everything. Money wise, i need help but i think in time even that will change.
