I... I was poking at my copy of Amphigorey and came to the list of "Also by/with Edward Gorey" and... and...
It said there was going to be a Gorey illustrated version og Irene Iddlesleigh by AMANDA MCKITTRICK ROS!

I now will have to spend some time finding out if this ever DID get published/finished, or if it was relegated to a realm of impossibility by the publisher.

Sadly, it seems this was not published in the end. Or it's just such a freaking rare book that my usual sources are basically going "Wha?". So. Phooey. Though friends with better search-fu than me are welcome to try seeing for CERTAIN somewhere/somehow.
