Yeah, I did it again. Managed to start paying off the binging I did around the holidays, but even before I halfway managed it- poof. More buying.
I've been on a comedy kick lately, and have been devouring any Youtube clips of Monty Python, Mel Brooks, etc. Today I broke down and decided to order some movies and the cheaper of the MP box sets. Also, a Tori Amos video collection I've been drooling over for a while.
It's not as *horrible* as previous binges, not even as expensive as the Christmas one, but... yeah. I probably should have resisted. Or channeled my desires into opening a Netflix account, which would allow me to watch a lot more for the amount I just spent.
...Of course, my brain says "but you'd have to RETURN rentals" which is an aspect I dislike, at least when dealing with things I know I'll probably want to watch again at some point. This is why I'm lousy about going to the library. I have that obsessive need to *own* Media I Like.
This is really something I need to work on. I suppose I could run and cancel the order, now that I am actually feeling some guilt over it, but... honestly.. I really want to watch my damn Mel Brooks movies and Monty Python skits. So I'm not all THAT guilty-feeling.
Just irritated that I can't better pace/finance myself.
(For the curious....I got the following Mel Brooks movies:
High Anxiety
Blazing Saddles (Anniversary Edition)
Young Frankenstein
History of the World
Twelve Chairs
Also then the 16 Ton Mega Edition or whatever of Monty Python, which according to comments on Amazon is slightly censored in places by A&E (bugger) but better than nothing.
And, yes, I grabbed Airplane! as well as the aforementioned Tori Amos music video collection (with commentary by her! YAY!).
Also snagged a used but supposedly "Very Good Condition" CD that I once owned but either lost or had stolen at some point. It's Deadicated a Grateful Dead tribute album, and mostly I wanted it again for the Suzanne Vega and Jane's Addiction covers. I remember REALLY liking those.
