Spore grr, and neighbors yay!

Jan 21, 2009 16:40

Well, so the first day I played Spore on new computer, the graphics were amazing, as I reported.

But it crashed a little much. So I turned graphics to 'medium'.

It's still crashing a bit much, and not only that, the graphics are now HORRIBLE. Everything is a shiny blue and green untextured mess.

Bleh. Guess I'll turn it back to high and see if that 'fixes' the graphics.

EDIT:

Ok, decided to not turn it into yet another post, because I've been very posty today.

To the west of us, the house is usually empty. Our neighbors there, a pair of professor-types from Wisconsin only came down here for a few weeks or months every year. They're great people, and we like them a lot. Carol has even bought some of my art, which of course instantly warms me further towards her ^^

Well, sometime this week they will be arriving, newly retired, to stay. I'm a little worried about how they'll react to the Ugly As Sin housing development that has sprung up behind us where there once was a lovely view of the mountains, but YAY, they are coming to stay! I might have someone to watch movies with ocassionally now! (When they've been down previously we've usually managed one neighbor-movie night.)

They are great people. Seriously. They remembered I liked Vernor's Ginger Ale, which is not sold down here, and have apparently bought a case to give us when they arrive. I am pondering giving them a painting as a housewarmingish thing, though not sure what they'd like best of what I currently have.

...maybe I'll offer to try doing a portrait of them. I need more practice with portraiture and I think they'd be tickled at the idea.

SON OF EDIT:
I'm... not sure whether I'm happy with today's Daily Drawing or not. My opinion of it rollercoasters around. But, for those of you who don't watch my Bakafox Studio LJ, and who've been posting about Obama and such these last few days, I tried to draw Hope.
