Deliver a Little Common Sense Please...
UPS delivered 2 packages today. A book for my mom, and a box of shirts for me.
They did this while we were gone.
It has been raining all day.
So they can't just leave our packages on the front porch.
For some reason, they decided the smart thing to do was to take the box and envelope to the just as unsheltered and wet back porch, pull my mom's bird seed bucket over, and stick the packages on that bucket up against the door so that they could not be seen via windows, and the main back door could not be opened for them.
I found them by chance, when I was trying to get that door open to take a picture of a cold, puffed up, hummingbird. The door got jammed by something, and by craning my neck, I saw a box.
My mom's book was sheltered for a while by the envelope, but it's all wet, and will be wrinkly, and I have 100+ "You have an epic ass" shirts that need to dry out now.
And if it hadn't been for that hummingbird, they would have been out there all night, and maybe all day tomorrow, since seldom do we go on the back porch when it is 40 degrees and raining out.
I am SO not happy.

Story about the whole no power thing this morning:
Mom called the power co, they came out, took a look, said it was our breakerbox that fried, and our problem.
Electricians are hard to get ahold of/find in this town. We may be without electricity through most of the house until sometime during the weekend.
The heater ignition/fans run on that electric, it seems.
There is no heat, I'm freezing my ass off. Thank god the stove is gas, and the toaster & microwave's outlet still works too.
