Thanks Jason, you wasted a lot of time in a really fun way ;)
No problem.
Momotaro's Divine Sea Warriors (Momotarō: Umi no Shinpei) (1945) - passed a chance to see this at otakon last year....
I've only found Raws of it on YouTube - you don't happen to know if anyone has subbed it have you?
Yobi, the Five Tailed Fox (2007) - sorry Jay, I didn't like this one as much as you did...
Well I do have a personal bias for the mythology involved - note the user name. =P Also I've noticed that the underworld portrayed in the film matches almost exactly a description I've read of how the underworld & reincarnation are described & function in the Buryat and Mongolian Shamanic traditions which I find fascinating (within the Korean systems I haven't seen much other they a number tend to follow something more akin to Buddhist and Chinese Folk afterlife systems although there are others).
I'm kind of surprised you haven't seen Song of the South.
As for recommendations: The Hunchback of Notre Dame - I haven't seen it myself but a friend recommended it and well the Hellfire bit completely blew me away. I didn't think I'd ever see a character slowly descending into madness by forbidden sexual lust and playing off parts of the Catholic Mass (Specifically the Confiteor (Mea Culpa is 'My Fault' in Latin) and Kyrie Eleison) with perfect imagery and an extremely well done song in a Disney Film. That and the opening and God Bless the Outcasts sold me on watching the film. The Mouse had a lot of balls making this thing.
Justice League: The New Frontier - This is fun. It's an adaptation of a series that looks back to bridge the Golden Age of comics with the Silver Age and plays off the various changes (such as Batman's change to a less frightening costume and the Sci-fi/Fantasy elements strongly entering), references to McCarthy (and the Comics Code Authority through it), and the story and voice acting is exceptional and the animation has a good retro feel. It's all around just good.
First Squad: The Moment of Truth (2009) - as I said on AIM the only problem is some really unnecessary interview break-ins which are jarring. The Animation is really good as always though.
