Phoenix

I just interviewed Phoenix.

They'll be good live tonight, "ThirtyDaysAgo" (their live album) isn't released in Canada and now it's in my hands, and it's awesome. Laurent says it's all about how "we try to combine Mozart and horses."

I was fucking lost in translation, that's for sure.

When they're live, it's horses, that's all I know.

It symbolizes letting loose, being wild. Taking a too cute boutique pop sound, and giving it some Daft Punk, which I like, and need in my music right now.

But he didn't have to point to the painting of the white horse on the wall. I like how he hardly spoke english and had to use the stupid horse to defend his point, which was pretty bad, but anyway.

DRUG ISSUE THEME FOUND: They like taking horse tranquilizer.

"We like to interfere with beautiful things," says Laurent.

They actually meant how their music interfered, and positively, with Lost in Translation. A "good feeling" a "chemical feeling"

It was all super. I like them. Thanks for making me go Cliff

Sunny Queen East was as sparkling with grit, and here they are, one big accent in some Riverdale Cafe. Too cool for Parisian school. Laurent had a nice hat. His bro, Chris -- bad teeth. The singers are the babes out of the four, but they were talking to someone else.

Jered is reviewing the show tonight for NOW, so maybe I'll steal his notes and imagine up some totally false feature on how they're total druggies. They gave a big nein on the electronic scene in Berlin though. That makes them cleaner, and made me sad.
